Prerequisites/Experience Required
At some of the Komodo dive sites, the currents can be challenging, the water can vary from warm to quite cool and even the waves and surface currents can make these dive sites seem daunting. Guides choose dive sites, times and even locations to make sure each dive is safe and suitable. And with plenty of dive sites, it’s never a bother to move on to the next one!
Our team is happy to help with any questions
We do mandate that every guests have recent diving experience (less than 1 year ago) before joining the Komodo Liveaboards. If not, we may require a “scuba tune-up” or refresher before your first dive… Believe us, the trip will be much more fun!
Safety – Health – Medical info
We try to assure the comfort of all our guests equally. If you have dietary restrictions – we must be notified of this before your arrival. This includes vegetarians and vegans. Due to the remote location and nature of the trips – we can not guarantee that very specific requirements can be met. In special cases, we are happy to prepare meals with food that are brought on the boat but we recommend purchasing these in Bali or the in locations with a far larger selection of food.
Due to our remoteness, the activities we undertake and, most importantly, the well-being of our guests – we have strict policies regarding health and safety on our liveaboards. If someone suffers from severe allergies or conditions – we must strongly urge you to re-consider your options for joining these trips. The medical facilities are minimal and evacuation to the nearest major hospital can take several hours even in good conditions. Please learn more about these
We recommend the use of reef-friendly sunscreen to all our guests! Learn more about the negative impact of commonly sold sunscreens for the reef and invertebrates here.
