Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and how to deal with problems before, during or after the dive. But even more important they learn how to recognize stress in divers and thus to prevent problems from happening in the first place. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence and skills. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to help yourself and the divers around you, even managing dive emergencies. When you dive a lot you will notice that there is always the chance on problems. From a broken mask strap, problems equalizing to panicked divers or even diving injuries. Although it’s difficult to go over all possible problems, we will teach you the right mentality and the general steps how to deal with these problems.
Rather than just worrying about what happens AFTER an accident happens – at Wicked Diving – our Rescue Diver Course focuses on stress and how this can lead to accidents. We explain how dives should be conducted in a safe way so that everyone has a good time in an environment where stress is not factor. We focus on reducing or eliminating the factors that cause stress, the reason that most accidents happen. We keep the groups small so you get all the time to practice and make use of assistants to make the course as realistic as possible.
Our Rescue course is especially designed to expose you to problems and scenarios that you may one day have to deal with. During your training the Wicked Dive team will equip you with the specific skills and techniques you will need to be able to confidently and decisively manage the situation. We share our extensive knowledge of dive accidents, we will teach you a whole new set of skills and of course we will familiarize you with equipment you need in Rescue Scenarios.
