Community Projects

Aside from diving, we make it a policy to give back, and take pride in our community, supporting it anyway we can. When join Wicked Diving on any dive or snorkel safari, you do more than just enjoy your vacation – you make a difference, and give back to the local community here in Khao Lak.

We commit a protion of our proceeds to developing the local community. Through ecological programs and education we aim to improve the world around us – above and below the water.

Similan Clean-up

This last season Wicked Diving teamed up with the National Park to help clean the reefs and beaches around Island number 4 (Koh Miang), and Island 1 (Koh Huyong) in the Similan Islands! Wicked Diving, Liquid Adventure, Big Blue Diving, The National Park Service, Green Fins and some divers from Singapore and Bangkok headed out to the Similans to get to work.

Whale Shark Education

we offer a unique experience that supports eco-tourism and combines the opportunity to search for, identify and track Whale Sharks in Thailand ‘s Andaman Sea.

There is little known about this magnificent fish and even less known about their mating habits, migration patterns and the actual living population. The objective of the Whale Shark Exploration Program is to help save this precious species and raise awareness by educating all participants about the Whale Shark in particular, by locating and observing them while identifying and taking pictures of the spot pattern on their skin. We will also see and learn about all of the local marine life indigenous to the premier dive locations in the Andaman Sea.

Summer Camp

As we proudly point out on our site and as part of our core operating philosophies – we contribute 10% of our profits to local Charities. In the past we have assisted with Tsunami recovery projects like the Saori foundation.

This year we really did some research and we honestly feel that there is very little need for continuing assistance in short-term Tsunami projects. There is still a dire need for people who are willing to contribute 1 or two years for teaching projects and/our counseling. But our impact would be minimal.

School

Wicked Diving is a proud sponsor of The GHRE Youth Outreach School for Burmese Children. As a sponsor, we have provided uniforms for the 22 kids that attend this school, in addition to these uniforms we will be visiting with these kids on a regualr basis to teach them about the fish and marine life in the area that they live in!

This week we went to visit the school and introduce these very special kids to each of our “fish”. Robyn, Filip, Tuk, Sara, Manuela, and Poy loaded up the Wicked Truck with art supplies, maps, fish books and lots of pictures and information about the marine life in the area, to take to the school and share our knowledge and experience with these kids. We were welcomed with big smiles and lots of questions. The topics we covered this week were:
