Where are you from?
I’m from beautiful Stockholm in Sweden.
What languages do you speak?
Swedish, obviously, English, Danish, Norwegian, some German and Spanish and a bit of Arabic and Bahasa Indonesia. My Thai is embarrassingly bad but I’m working on it.
How long and where have you been diving?
I have been diving for 10 years now and I’d like to say “all over the place”, but that’s of course not true. I have been diving in the cold green wonderful waters of Scandinavia, the exceptional Red Sea, into the amazing marine variety of Indonesia, the fascinating Philippines and of course the gorgeous Similan Islands.
What got you started in diving?
I have wanted to dive ever since divers were called “frogmen” back in the late 70’s. I could snorkel before I could swim properly but I didn’t get down to it until I could pay for my course myself, mum and dad not wanting to pay for something they thought dangerous.
Why the Similan Islands and Khao Lak? What brought you here?
You mean what brought me back?! The unusual combination of fantastic diving and very nice working conditions with great people around. That’s enough for anyone in the dive industry!
Favourite Fish / Marine life?
Oh, confession time is it?! Ok then, I do confess to being a terrible nudibranch geek and yes, I do know loads of names in Latin but not yet the page number in the books! But seriously, I like anything that is difficult to find, the stranger the better
