Similan Island Wrecks & Pinnacles
Lots of steel, lots of rocks and lots of fish
Shipwrecks
Magical words that conjure images from chilhood! Pirates and giant Squid! While they are truly fascinating, we just don’t have that many Giant Squid here! However – they are perfect artificial reefs and very often provide a home to dozens of fish species. The Simillan Islands and Khao Lak area have several interesting wrecks, each with their own story.
Pinnacles
The Similan Islands are also home to several incredibly interesting pinnacles that are rarely visited! They are often deep and there can be strong currents – keeping away the more beginning divers. These Pinnacles are home to some of the purest dive sites in the region. The marine life is amazing and you have a much better chance on seeing some of the big stuff.
Diving wrecks and pinnacles need some special considerations if you want to do it in a safe and enjoyable way. This trip is for the more experienced diver. Wicked Diving offers Nitrox on our liveaboard. In addition – for this trip instead of the SSI ECOlogical specialty, we will include your deep diver specialty for free and you can do the nitrox specialty at discounted rates if you are not already certified. If you are already a Nitrox diver, you might want to do an advanced nitrox or technical foundations course where you have the chance to dive with different gas mixes or up to 4 tanks.
