Komodo Islands Liveaboard Diving

The diving in Komodo is considered among the best in the world, with its remote location, vibrant reefs and incredible marine life – Komodo diving is a truly memorable experience. The Islands may seem barren and brown due to the infrequent rains and unique micro-climate. With the famous Komodo Dragons roaming the beaches many people already know these islands already, but don’t overlook the 150+ species of birds, Buffalo, Monkeys, pigs and dozens more species.
Under the water, guests on our Komodo Liveaboard may experience passing pelagics like Manta Rays and Sharks, amazing critters and a rich diversity of marine life. At some of the Komodo dive sites, the currents can be challenging, the water can vary from warm to quite cool and even the waves and surface currents can make these dive sites seem daunting – but it is definitely worth it. For these reasons, please chose a reputable dive operator with an eye to safety and sensible diving.
There was some damage to the reefs from dynamite fishing in years past, but as the Komodo National Park was established and rules enforced, the reefs have recovered and conditions are good bordering on great. The Komodo National Park is often held up as a role model of Responsible tourism practices. the fees you pay for entrance to the Komodo Park all contribute to the protection and maintenance of the park.
