The Indonesian Archipelago is home to a spectacular flora and fauna. One of the most famous inhabitants is found on the islands of Komodo, Rinca and Flores: The Komodo Dragon (Varanus Komodoensis), the largest lizard in the world. They can reach over 3 meters in length and can weigh over 100 kg. During most of the day they can be found resting but they are surprisingly fast when hunting. Komodo Dragons can reach a speed of up to 18 kmh. They rely on their sharp claws, strong jaws and their saliva contains over 30 different strains of bacteria which can cause infections on prey like deer, pigs and even large buffalos.
On our liveaboard trips we offer walks on Komodo or Rinca, where you have the opportunity to see these beautiful animals from close by. Local guides will join you on the treks and can explain more about the dragons and their habitat.

Howdy!
We started Wicked Diving (along with Karin Sundelius) as a natural extension of our passion for diving. This obsession with marine life, environmentalism, safety and service is reflected in all that we do. From our education programs & ecologically friendly dive boat to the extensive staff training and sponsoring of the local school for children of Burmese migrant laborers. I’ve never wanted to be the biggest dive center, nor the most famous – instead all of us at Wicked Diving strive to offer the very best. We live by the golden rule – This is the dive center we would most like dive with if we were a guest. I hope you agree.
