Getting to Komodo
Getting to Komodo (4)
The Komodo National Park is located in the heart of the Indonesian Archipelago. The park is conveniently located just a dozen or so kilometers off the shores of Flores island. The main port of departure is the small fishing and transport hub of Labuan Bajo.
Flores Island is located in Indonesia, spread over an area of 15,000 square kilometers and is part of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Labuan Bajo is located on the far north-western corner of the island and is where our shop is located and all our trips depart from.
Almost all major international airlines fly into Denpasar, Bali. From there a domestic flight can be taken to Labuan Bajo. Daily flights can be taken on Indonesia Air Transport (IAT), Merpati and Trans Nusa Airlines. There are between 6 and 10 flights daily. The airport is located about 3 km from the town of Labuan Bajo.
Regular local ferry is also available departing from Benoa Harbour to Labuan Bajo. Alternatively, you can come through land transportation from island to island. From Bali, you would have to cross 2 islands, Lombok and Sumbawa.
