Similan Islands
Similan Islands
Similan Islands are regarded as Thailand’s premier dive and snorkelling site but also one of the best diving locations in the world. Dozens of dive sites are scattered among 9 unihabited islands – picturesque white sand beaches, lush jungles and the azure waters. Incredible marine life, reefs and pinnacles all earn the reputation!
Animal Life Above the sea surrounding each island lies Beach forest, which steadily becomes Tropical forest further inland. A large diversity of important tree species can be found and these support the life of many species.
Mu Ko Similan are a group of nine small islands, with National Park status under the care of the Royal Forestry Department, in the Andaman Sea 52 km west of Khao Lak. They are renowned the world over for their natural beauty and incredible underwater scenery.
Weather forecasts and conditions are hard to find for the Similan Islands. They are remote tropical islands after all! However the park is CLOSED from MAy 15th until October each year.
