Advanced Diver – Khao Lak

Stay in Khao Lak each night – Dive the Similan Islands each day

Join us for 3 days of great diving and do your Advanced course at the same time. This course is great to improve your diveskills and allows you to go beyond the limits of the Open Water diver certificate.

Khao Lak Advanced Course, 3 days / 6 dives

Doing the Advanced Open Water Program is an incredible 3 day “hands on” course in which you improve those diving skills you already have. Experience more by going deeper than 18 meters, learning how the fish act, how to navigate and not get lost! We will give these and many other useful and fun tools to increase your confidence and independence. After completion you will receive your Advanced Diver certificate which will allow you to dive more advanced divesites all around the world. Doing your course here in Khao Lak gives you the opportunity to see the Similan Islands AND stay in your resort at night! We go out by comfortable speedboat and if you have friends or family that don’t dive, they can join for a day of snorkeling or maybe even do a try dive in the Similans. This is mainly a practical course and there is no exam, so the Advanced course is a very nice way to better your skills on your holiday. The minimum dives required for the Advanced course is 5, but we actually do six dives, at no additional cost. To start the Advanced course you need to be a certified Open Water Diver. In total you need to do 5 so-called Adventure Dives, each with a specific topic. The 6th dive is a regular fundive. Your instructor will do a theory session on each topic before the dives and under water there are a few excercises to be done. Don’t worry, the skills are easy and there will be a lot of time for diving left since we have small groups and allow for long divetimes. So no video’s, exams and homework! Just listen to you instructor and improve yourself on the dives. The following dives are popular choices for the Advanced Course:

There are more dives to choose from. You can discuss the options with your instructor and decide which dives are best to suit your interests. It’s up to you!

Advanced Course on our Similans Liveaboard?

It is also possible to join us for a 3-day/3-night liveaboard and do your advanced course while you are on the boat. There are a total of 9 dives on the schedule, which is ideal to combine your 5 Adventure Dives that are needed for the course. And we have 4 more dives to enjoy the beauty of the Similans and refine your skills. Doing a nightdive as part of your course is also and option on this trip. Click here for more info.

The course price includes: Pick up from your hotel (in the Khao Lak area) – Marine Park Fees – water, softdrinks and electrolytes – lunch – all dive equipment – certification – good times, great memories and lots of fun! 6 dives on 2 daytrips to the Similans and 1 daytrip to a local wreck. If you want to do all 6 dives in the Similan Islands there is a surcharge of 2000 Baht per person.

All Courses are to the strictest training standards and we will cut no corners. Courses are done with SSI (Scuba Schools International), unless otherwise noted. The same course can be conducted as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course – but there will be a surcharge as PADI requires the purchase of the books and materials as part of the course – SSI does not. Otherwise there is no difference in standards or safety between the two systems.

WICKED MEDICAL AND HEALTH DURING TRAINING

If you have any health problems, are on any form of medication or have had any illness, injury or operation that you think may affect you whilst diving, please let the staff of Wicked Diving know in advance. If you are allergic to any form of medication, please state this clearly on the Registration Form. Anyone requiring vegetarian food or with any food allergies should advise us before the training course. Should you have any restrictions or requirements and not inform Wicked Diving previous to your trip departures, it may be difficult or impossible to meet such demands.

Please also note the following conditions to ensure a safe diving trip for all our customers:

Asthma. Please be aware that we do not accept divers with asthma or who take medication for prevention or treat ment of asthma on our during our courses if you have had an attack in the last 5 years. If you had an attack between 5-10 years ago, we will ask to see the results of a Spirometric test (lung function test) dated not older than 3 months.
Diabetes. Unfortunately we do not accept divers with this condition, as our staff are not medically qualified to a level to deal with any medical problems that may arise.
Thyroid Disease. Divers with thyroid disease or having no thyroid gland should bring a medical statement dated within the past 3 months proving that their cardiovascular system has been critically assessed.
Wicked Diving also can not accept divers with Hypertension (high blood pressure) or divers using anti-depressants (e.g. Prozac) on our diving courses.

Please note that for the above mentioned conditions we do NOT accept medical statements issued locally, unless they are from an internationally accredited hospital. If you need any assistance or further advice on this subject, please contact us for further information

For your safety and enjoyment, please avoid flying at least 24 hours after your last dive on your diving course!
