While we can arrange a single day trip to snorkel in the area….we believe that the best way to truly experience this World Heritage site is on an overnight snorkeling boat! No divers, no big groups – just 6 people exploring this far edge of the world.
- Small group, experienced guides
- Departures every Monday and Friday
- Encounters with Turtles, Manta Rays and some of the richest marine life on earth
- Take a guided tour to look for dragons in the hills of Komodo National Park
Join us for a 3 day adventure on our Budget Komodo boat! Only 6 guests per trip on this unique tour. In the case of young children, we are able to thrill them with dragons, open seas and incredible marine life at every stop. Imagine your own boat, sailing from bay to bay in the remote reaches of Indonesia.
Komodo Dragon Facts
The unique geology of the region makes this unlike any other place on Earth. The largest three islands that comprise Komodo National Park have developed endemic species that epitomize nature at its most amazing. We have all heard of the famed monitor lizard better known as the Komodo dragon. This massive predator and notorious scavenger, the ora (as it’s called locally) is the largest lizard species in the world, growing to nearly 3 meters (10 feet) long and 80 Kilos (170 pounds). The Komodo dragon’s massive size is the result of island gigantism, a biological phenomenon in which animals isolated on an island increase dramatically in size. Join us for the morning on a park ranger-guided walk into the forests in search of its most famous inhabitants. Along the way we may encounter several of the other inhabitants of the islands – deer, wild pigs, monkeys and birds including yellow-crested cockatoos, doves and terns.
All of our snorkeling activities are designed for the entire family. With the small groups and highly trained staff – the reefs of the Komodo National Park are yours to explore at leisure. Please be aware that you may come for two days and stay for weeks!
The equipment is all new and of very high quality. Our highly trained staff are not only focused on your safety, but we are very conscientious about our impact on the environment. We try to reduce waste at each opportunity and 2% of all our revenue goes towards projects that improve the lives in the local community and ecosystems. We you join our trips – you make a difference.
Komodo Snorkeling Itinerary
Day 1: We meet in Labuan Bajo after a nice breakfast, double check equipment and sizes and head west towards our first goal – Bidadari Beach. We will spend the day stopping at just a few of the dozens of islands that make up the park as we sail down to Kelor, keep your eyes peeled along the way for jumping fish, sometimes dolphins, and many sea eagles hunting. We then continue further south into the National Park and visit Rinca Village a tradition fishing village with many many happy smiley kids to show you around. A very heart warming experience. This night we sleep at Kaaba, a mangrove island which is famous for its migrating bats and dusk. Millions of huge bats leave the island to fly to the mainland of Flores to feed.
Day 2: After a gentle wake-up, we head to Rinca Island again to trek with the Komodo Dragons, then off for some more snorkeling in the National Park, beach visits and clean ups, time to chill out on the boat. After a full day of snorkeling and exploring – we sleep at Sebayor Island. this island is worth days of snorkeling and exploring all on it’s own.
Day 3: On this last day we slowly head back to the mainland with one last stop in Kanawa. We return to the bussle of Labuan Bajo around 3.30- 4pm

THIS IS NOT A LUXURY BOAT!!!
We can respect dietary requirements to a certain extent. Please understand we are in a more remote part of Indonesia and can not always get special supplies, we are happy when we get all the food and drinks that we request, let alone special requests.
The cook and staff will try their utmost to respect these requests (gluten free and vegan for example) , but due to the remote location and nature of the trips – we can not guarantee that they can be met. In many cases we are happy to prepare meals and food stuffs that are brought on the boat and we recommend purchasing these in Bali or the in locations with a far larger selection of products than what we can get in Labuan Bajo.
If someone suffers from severe allergies or conditions – we must strongly urge you to consider your options for joining these trips. The medical facilities are minimal and evacuation to the nearest major hospital (Bali) can take 12-24 hours in good conditions.
