Open Water Course done while on our Similan Liveaboard
Join us for a great 3 day liveaboard adventure to the Similan Islands and learn to dive the ideal way. A great trip and lot’s of dives will guarantee that you will be a confident diver by the time you leave our boat.

Similan Liveaboard Open Water Course – 5 days / 11 dives
Our instructors are very experienced and they will teach you all your Open Water Diver course in a relaxed, safe and fun 5 day course. You will learn all the necessary theory and waterskills to become a confident diver during the course. After completion of the course you will receive the Open Water Diver certification, which is recognized throughout the world and allows you to make great dives anywhere in the world. The first two days of the course are spent in Khao Lak. On day one we will do theory and the swimming pool excercises to get you comfortable with the gear and breathing under water as well as basic skills like swimming and floating. On the second day we will finish your theory and if you can’t wait to go diving, you can choose to upgrade your course by adding two training dives on the second day by longtail on our local reef. This means that you only have two training dives left by the time you go on the liveaboard and will make a total of 11 dives.
On day three we leave with the boat for 3 days to the Similan Islands. We have a total of 9 dives on the schedule and in between the dives there is plenty of time to relax, enjoy our great food and even make a beachtrip on the islands. After completion of the course, you will become certified as an internationally recognized Open Water Diver. But since you are already on our liveaboard, we just continue diving and you will notice that these extra dives really help to increase your confidence and experience. You can start the course every Monday & Thursday: 2 days academics and pool + 3 days with open water training dives and 5 additional fundives on the our Similans Liveaboard!
What’s next?
Well, after you have finished your course, you probably want to spend the rest of your holiday underwater in the Similans. Theory is done, all skills are completed, so time to go fundiving. You will notice that there is still a lot to learn and much much more to see down there so every dive you make will add on to your experience. Or you might even consider going for the Advanced course, an easy practical course (no DVD’s and exam!) in which we go a bit deeper and get you even more comfortable by doing an extra 6 dives. It’s your holiday, you decide….

If you have any health problems, are on any form of medication or have had any illness, injury or operation that you think may affect you whilst diving, please let the staff of Wicked Diving know in advance. If you are allergic to any form of medication, please state this clearly on the Registration Form. Anyone requiring vegetarian food or with any food allergies should advise us before the Similan Liveaboards. Should you have any restrictions or requirements and not inform Wicked Diving previous to your trip departures, it may be difficult or impossible to meet such demands.
Please also note the following conditions to ensure a safe diving trip for all our customers:
Asthma. Please be aware that we do not accept divers with asthma and/or who take medication for prevention or treat ment of asthma on our Similan Liveaboards if you have had an attack in the last 5 years. If you had an attack between 5-10 years ago, we will ask to see the results of a Spirometric test (lung function test) dated not older than 3 months.
Diabetes. Unfortunately we do not accept divers with this condition, as our staff are not medically qualified to a level to deal with any medical problems that may arise.
Thyroid Disease. Divers with thyroid disease or having no thyroid gland should bring a medical statement dated within the past 3 months proving that their cardiovascular system has been critically assessed.
Wicked Diving also can not accept divers with Hypertension (high blood pressure) or divers using anti-depressants (e.g. Prozac) on our Similan Liveaboards.
Please note that for the above mentioned conditions we do NOT accept medical statements issued locally, unless they are from an internationally accredited hospital. If you need any assistance or further advice on this subject, please contact us for further information
For your safety and enjoyment, please avoid flying at least 24 hours after your last dive on our Similan Liveaboards!
