Castle Rock
A great dive site one of the best in the world. Once you have dived it, you will agree. This underwater pinnacle attracts lots of pelagics; grey reefsharks, white tips, huge trevally’s and the odd eagle ray passing by. The top of the pinnacle is a few meters under the surface and a good place to finish the dive, since you can find shelter for the current. Marine life is great at each depth, but it is at the base of the pinnacle where you will find the sharks cruising around.
This site, like almost all site located in the deep channel between Komodo and Rinca islands can have some fierce currents. For this reason, this site is restricted to the most experienced divers and limited to certain conditions. Snorkeling is not allowed and no one with less than 50 dives is permitted. We only visit this site a few times a month, so please don’t expect it on the itinerary.
