Please use the map below to help find your way around Khao Lak. Zoom out or in to see more details. To the West are the Similan Islands. To the South is the Phuket Airport. Just Northeast is Khao Sok National Park
Khao Lak is located on the west coast of Thailand right on the main road heading south from Bangkok to Phuket and running all the way to the Malaysian border. To the West of us are the Similan Islands, to the South is Phuket, and north is Khao Sok National Park. When you get to Khao Lak we are at the southern end, a 1 minute walk north of the hotel Phu Khao Lak(Pronounced Poo Cow Lak) or 2 minutes south of the supermarket.
You have 4 options – TRAIN, BUS, TAXI or FLY/TRANSFER
By far the easiest and most convenient option if you’re coming from Bangkok is to take the Bus. They run every day and night and will take you door to door. If you’re fortunate enough to have more time for slow and leisurely travel – much more enjoyable in our opinion – you can take the Train. While this isn’t the quickest and easiest option, as there are unfortunately no direct links to Khao Lak, if you have the luxury of time it can be a relaxing way to see a bit of the Thai countryside and interact with the local communiies. If you are Flying to Thailand from overseas Khao Lak lies one hour north of Phuket International Airport. On arrival at Phuket you will need to transfer to Khao Lak by bus or taxi. |
