Fundiving / Mapping at the Premchai Wreck (12.2.09)

We all (Tuk, Sara, Dan, Henrik, Erik and I) met at the shop at 8 o´clock in the morning to go fun-diving and do the mapping at the Premchai wreck! Paul drove us to Taplamu pier and then we went on captain Jack´s longtail. 40 minutes and we arrived at the divesite… and there were no other boats! Great!

We jumped in the water, and what a surprise: we could see the bottom from the surface! 20m visability! We decended and saw the amazing, big wreck with sooo many fishes! Sara and I wanted to do the mapping, but there were so many fishes to look at: hundrets of scorpionfishes and lionfishes, porcuopinefishes, pufferfishes, boxfishes, clownfishes, murray eels, nudibraches… And Tuk found 2 Ghost Pipe Fishes and a Stonefish! In the end Sara pointed out something… a turtle! What a surprise! We swam with the turtle for 10 minutes (till our deco-time was off) and we had a little photoshooting with it! It´s just amazing!

Back on the boat we had lunch and a 2 hours break before the second dive. We listened to music (or tried to J ), did some summersaults from the boat, relaxed, got sunburnt or did something else (there is always something funny to do)!

On the second dive Tuk found 2 more Ghostpipefishes! (well done Tuk!) So, there are at least 4 (!!!) Ghost Pipe Fishes at the wreck! We did some more mapping… and got an idea how the boat sank, on which side it lies and what the big opening on the wreck was for! And again: we had a little swim with the turtle!

What a great day!
Thank you Tuk, Sara, Dan, Henrik and Erik for having so much fun! I really enjoyed that day!
Manuela
