This morning a few staff & DMTs of Wicked Diving went back to the Burmese school to spend some time with the kids studying there. On the last visit Jenessa had assigned them a project to draw their favorite fish, which they all had done. Lots of dolphins, sharks, seahorses, and anemone fish. Wow, did they have a lot of questions about marine life! How do whales sleep? What does Nemo eat? Good thing Tuk and Poy were there to help translate and answer questions in Thai. We asked them what they’d like to learn more about and they decided that they’re interested in both scuba diving and underwater research. As well, their teacher wants us to discuss oceanography with them. So now we’ve got a few projects to work on before we visit them next. After the `lecture´ portion of our visit we all watched a video of the Whale Shark Expedition trip that had just gone out. The kids really seemed to enjoy seeing real fish and sharks swimming around on the screen. Plus, I think, the candy we brought them didn’t hurt either…..
