I finnished my Divemaster training with Wicked Diving around christmas after 6-7 Wicked weeks here in Khao Lak and Similan Islands!
Personally I think it was my best invested money ever if I’m looking back for what I got under my DMT course. Lots of Diving! New friends for life! Great Experience!
And now it’s possible for me to work all over the world with this education! đŸ™‚
It all started this summer back in Sweden!
After 2 years of travelling around the world I was finally thinking about doing something like an important education in Sweden like all my friends already do..
..But after some consideration I found out that maybe this is the moment to do what I’ve been thinking about doing since I started diving 2 years ago insteed! Doing my DIVEMASTER!
Suddenly! everything felt 100% absolutely right and I decided to do my DMT in
Similan Islands where I’ve heard that the diving is amazing. I started contact different companys in Khao Lak and I found out that Wicked Diving sounds like the best opportunity for me..
I came to Khao Lak the 19th october after 1 months of travelling in Southeast Asia.
I got my own bungalow in Wicked Village immediately and I also went to Honda Garage
to rent my lovely Honda Wave 125cc under my time here in Khao Lak.
After a couple of days I did my EFR Course witch was a great course with a lot of fun!
The day after the EFR I started my 4 day Rescue Diver Course witch was another good experience!
I was now qualified to begin my Divemaster Course and as soon as the other 3 guys arrived in Khao Lak we started together in the beginning of November!
Under the course we have been studying a lot of Psysics, Physiology, Equipment, Decompression Theory, Skills and Environment, Divemaster Conducted Programs and also the 9 chapters in the Divemaster Manual. Before we did the exams for each part of the theoryprograms we had selfstudying and also a great lecture where we could get all our questions answered.
Another part of the DMT was practical diving on the Liveaboard’s with the lovely boat ”Parinee” and also the local diving at ”Boon Sung Wreck” which is one o my favorite divesites in the area!
In the beginning it was more fundiving but after awile we had more ”Leading Fundivers” and also ”Mapping” of the Boon Sung Wreck which was a lot of fun!
”Skill Circuit” was another part of the DMT, in the swimmingpool but also in the open water at Nang Thong Beach. This means practising the 20 different skills of a Open Water Course together with your mentor and the other DMT’s. After doing the Skill Circuit a couple of times we got points for what we performed under the skills and we did the evaluation together with our mentor back in the classroom later on.
Big part of the DMT was ”Assisting in Courses” where we helped the instructors assisting in everything from EFR Courses to Rescue Courses. I think this was a very importent part of the program just because we saw how different instuctors worked in different ways under their course which was very interesting. A big part of the assisting was also to prepare for a possible Instructor Course in the future.
After 6 weeks of training we where now ready to run or own prepared 3day liveaboard
in Similan Islands..
..which means doing the diveschedule, having all the briefings on the boat, taking care of the customers and working like Divemasters! This was a GREAT experience and I think everyone on the boat was happy with the trip which was extra fun! đŸ˜€
Last thing we did under the program was the BIG final exam…”The DM Challenge”!!
Everyone of us had to pass this one before we could sign off like divemasters.
I’m not gona go into any details at all about this one..
So I guess you just have to find out what it is!!
If you have EVER thinking about doing the Divemaster… DO IT!!
Thanks for me!
&
Thanks Wicked Diving for a great course!
