Art lesson at the school

Today I went to the Burmese School and got to teach all about my favorite topic “Art”.
I was surprised at how willing the children were to try and understand the concept of color wheels and depth. I had to keep it simple as to not confuse them with my rambling on, as I could go on all day about color.
By the end they all seemed to have a good concept of how to read color from pictures and how to apply it to their project, which is to make a picture of their favorite fish. I handed out some how to draw pages I made of different fish so they could practice and have an idea of what shapes fish are made of. Many of the kids are pretty good artists or try very hard to make good drawings so it should be nice to see what they can do with their favorite fish.
If I get to go next time I would like to show them some different mediums of art so they can learn a bigger variety than the usual ones like Paint and Pencil.

It was a great morning!

Jenessa.
