Komodo Dive Camp
Sleep on an uninhabited island on the edge of the UNESCO protected Komodo National Park. Dive directly from this protected beach on several dive sites ranging from beginner to advanced. Enjoy sunsets from our private beach. spend a day kakaying through these islands. Enjoy our SUP explorations…or simply enjoy a secluded day on the edges of Komodo Park. Enjoy an evening campfire as the equatorial stars flicker above.
In a region filled with wildly priced resorts, we felt the best way to reduce our impact, create an amazing experience and offer the most reasonable prices – was to keep it simple! Our camp runs on a “leave no trace” ethic with all garbage brought on being brought off, daily beach clean up and a deep cooperation with the local community through our non-profit foundation Wicked Good. Take a retreat from the crowds, from the hectic pace of life and enjoy our tropical island camp.
Komodo Dive Camp – The diving
We see reef shark on almost every dive at the main dive sites. We also have great numbers of turtles, rays,
bumpheads, tuna, barracuda, giant trevelly, Queensland grouper and schooling fish. At depth we find Pygmy seahorses and more. Komodo Dive Camp is the ideal retreat for divers…beginner or veteran.
Each tent has its own solar panel and independent light system. The camping is 100% powered by solar energy.
Facilities at the camping site includes cooking area (and don’t worry you don’t have to cook, delicious food will be served to you), comfortable covered eating area, toilets with shower, lights and nice bonfire area, where to spend time after dinner sharing stories and staring at the beautiful stars….
With more than a decade of experience running diving operations, adventure companies, and exploratory operations across SE Asia….Komodo Dive Camp is a truly exciting new venture and perfectly reflects the Wicked Diving ethos and passions: Great diving, reasonable prices, authentic experiences and sustainable development.
Komodo Dive Camp – Our Ethos
Sustainability and community development. While the tourism boom is underway, the local community has not been benefiting. We are actively teaching sustainability, conservation and marine conservation in the local schools. We also offer opportunities to see and explore the underwater world. A select and dedicated few join our “Local Hero” program and are trained to become professional dive guides. Your booking makes this happen. You will not only be supporting the training program, but you will be meeting, diving with and making friends with our current and former interns. In fact, almost any local Dive Guide or instructor in Komodo is a graduate of our program. 10% of your booking goes towards this non-profit.
