Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and recognize stress in others and will have the knowledge to be able to diffuse this before stress levels rise to the point where panic occurs. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies
Rather than just worrying about what happens AFTER an accident happens – at Wicked Diving – our Khao Lak Rescue Diver Course focuses on stress and its diffusion. Our Rescue course is especially designed to expose you to problems and scenarios that you may one day have to deal with. During your training the Wicked Dive team will equip you with the specific skills and techniques you will need to be able to confidently and decisively manage the situation. We share our extensive knowledge of dive accidents, we will teach you a whole new set of skills and of course we will familiarize you with equipment you need in Rescue Scenarios. Our staff are not only experienced as Rescue divers, but we are the official evacuation center for the Similan Islands and we have TWO Dive Medics on staff.

It usually requires four full days of learning and diving, but here in Khao Lak we could skip a day to suit your schedule. At Wicked we are not prepared to put anyone at risk by cutting corners to provide so called “cheap” diver training. We do it right.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn an Rescue Diver Certification.
We do need

proof of training to at Advanced Level
-Current First Aid/EFR certification (within the last 24 months)
-Must be at least 15 years of age

Prior to the course your instructor will issue your “Crew Pack”, which contains Rescue diver Manual, slates and other materials.
The first day of your Rescue Diver course is split between classroom and pool, learning and perfecting the fundamentals and techniques that will be put into practice later. Once you have learned and mastered these skills you will move to the open water location for the beginning of an very intense few days. Yes this course is a high level and serious course but without doubt the most rewarding course you have done – so far! Scenarios drawn from our real-world experience in Diving and Dive Medics will enrich this course with reality and knowledge that you can find nowhere else.
After wards? – More diving? Maybe
join the next liveaboard trip to the Similan Islands, or Richelieu Rock, A daytrip to the local wrecks or even start in on your Divemaster Training !
You will be certified as an Open Water Diver – ready to continue your passion for diving – As a graduate you will receive a 10% discount on courses and trips within 2 weeks. Of course we have more diving – local wrecks, liveaboard trips, Richelieu Rock and more! Of course you can join some of our higher level courses – or even, if you dare, become a professional diver and stay here for months!
*All Courses are to the strictest training standards and we will cut no corners. All Courses are SSI, unless otherwise noted. The same course can be conducted as a PADI Open Water course – but there will be a surcharge of 1500 Baht as PADI requires the purchase of the books and materials as part of the course – SSI does not. Otherwise there is no difference in standards or safety between the two systems.
