Doing the Advanced Open Water Program is an incredible 3 day “hands on” course in which you improve those diving skills you already have. Experience more by going deeper than 18 meters, learning how the fish act, how to not get lost! We will give these and many other useful and fun tools for you to have. With fields of blue and yellow soft corals, forest of hard coral, hundreds of species of reef dwellers – Angelfish, Bannerfish, Lionfish, Puffers and more are all right here waiting for you. We also frequently see the “pelagic” or open ocean fish – Sharks, Tuna, Barracuda, and Snappers all swing by. Of course we must point out our real treasures – Manta Rays, Whale Sharks and Turtles. The Advanced course is a variety of five dives and brief academic sessions will allow you to explore exciting new skills like deep diving, photography and underwater navigation. After you decide to join the Advanced Open Water course in KhaoLak (and you should!) we will ask you to do these simple steps.
1. Review the Medical Statement with the store staff prior to signing up. If there are any medical conditions indicated on the medical statement you will need a Medical Release Form from a doctor to sign before starting class.
2. You will need to read the manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter before the start of each relevant dive. By completing the reading assignments you will get more out of the brief lectures and have a much better time!
3. Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!
4. Listen to the Briefings and quiz your instructor on all you saw and did! That’s right – no exams. This is about improving your skills!

You will be certified as an Advanced Diver – ready to continue your passion for diving – As a graduate you will receive a 10% discount on courses and trips within 2 weeks. Of course we have more diving – local wrecks, liveaboard trips, Richelieu Rock and more! Of course you can join some of our higher level courses – or even, if you dare, become a professional diver and stay here for months!
Before the course begins we will need from you:
Certification as an Open Water Diver, or Junior Open Water Diver (age 12 or older)
A parent or guardian signature is required on the first day of class for students who are minors.

*All Courses are to the strictest training standards and we will cut no corners. All Courses are SSI, unless otherwise noted. The same course can be conducted as a PADI Advanced Open Water course – but there will be a surcharge of 1500 Baht as PADI requires the purchase of the books and materials as part of the course – SSI does not. Otherwise there is no difference in standards or safety between the two systems.
